These are unprecedented times for everyone and a reminder how quickly things can change. We want to first share our thoughts and prayers for those of you being affected by this virus whether it’s through financial or personal loss. The ‘Stay-at-home’ order by the Governor has really brought new business to a near stop. However we continue to write some new contracts, work-through our existing contracts and close properties each day. The lenders, attorneys and courthouse are all operating on limited staff or by ‘Appointment-only’ scenarios, but we are getting things done. Technology allows us to communicate, sign documents, record deeds and take virtual or video tours of our listings. There are many indicators that since this crisis was not caused by the mortgage or real estate industry that it will not have a tremendous impact on home values and the market. Construction continues and the demand continues to grow. It is important that if you are in the market to buy a home right now that you are in contact with your lender to be sure approvals are still valid. If you are planning to sell your home, now is a good time to get it out there online for people to see, waiting until this is over may put you in mix of many other sellers trying to get their homes on the market at the same time.
