Living in The Cape | Wilmington NC Neighborhoods

Living at The Cape is much like living in a resort type setting. Residents have created a tight knit community and are always willing to help one another by providing excellent communication across the neighborhood. As you can imagine, the area is considered a very safe place to live. The Cape’s website even features emergency numbers to call in order to receive the fastest service possible and they urge anyone who feels something is wrong to immediately contact them.

Local Clubs

There are a few interesting activities the community hosts. A book club has been put together to provide residents an outlet to get to know their neighbors. The Cape Book Club meets every third Thursday of the month. They go over a wide array of reading materials, which can capture most anyone’s interest.

The Masonboro Country Club is very close as well. The club features an expansive golf course. There is an outdoor dining area on location, where excellent cuisine is served to members and their guests. Golfing tournaments are held quite often and scheduling is never an issue.

Neighborhood Committee

There is a social committee to join which oversees any and all group activities that go on within the community. The Cape website even provides “Neighborhood News” so that you might stay up to date on any major events happening within the area that might affect you.

Entertainment

There are numerous entertainment venues and events that happen within a few miles of The Cape. Concerts are frequently scheduled, along with sporting events, author book signings, guest speakers, fashion shows and a many number of other activities that might strike your fancy.

Medical Centers

Numerous businesses of interest are closely located to the neighborhood, including Federal Point Medical Center, a mere two miles away. The New Hanover Regional Medical Center is located ten miles from the location and the Cape Fear Hospital at 12 miles.

Education

Besides these medical facilities, there are quite a few educational locations and libraries close by. The University of North Carolina at Wilmington is only 15 miles out of the way and the Cape Fear Community College is at the same amount of distance. A good selection of New Hanover public schools are an “arm’s reach” away, so finding a good education is never an issue. A few private schools are also within a short driving distance.

A few libraries are within driving distance, including the Carolina Beach Branch at three miles from location, the Myrtle Grove branch a mere six miles away, and the New Hanover County Main Library at 14 miles from The Cape. Each hold a nice selection of reading materials, and if they are not in possession of a book you are looking for, their workers would be happy to help you find something just as great or possibly order a book from one of the other branches.

Shopping

Shopping centers are a big deal, when choosing a place to live. Luckily, The Cape has two facilities within three miles of their location that provide food and other items of importance for purchase. The Masonboro Commons is two miles away and Federal Point Shopping Center is only three miles from The Cape.
